On November 26, Bangladesh issued a response to India’s concerns about the arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das, the head of Pundrik Dhama in Chattogram. The Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified that the arrest was based on specific charges and expressed disappointment over India’s reaction.
Bangladesh stated that the claims made about the arrest were misinterpreted and did not reflect the true circumstances. The Ministry emphasized that such statements could negatively affect the friendly relationship between the two countries.
Earlier, India had expressed concern over the treatment of Hindus in Bangladesh and urged the government to protect the rights of minorities, including their right to peaceful assembly and freedom of expression.
