Bangladesh Dominates in the Second T20
Bangladesh confirmed the T20 series victory against the Netherlands with a commanding 9-wicket win in the second match at Sylhet International Stadium on Monday (September 1). The Tigers chased down the 104-run target comfortably, thanks to an excellent innings from opener Tanzid Tamim.
Netherlands Struggles with Early Wickets
The Dutch side never found their rhythm after losing their openers early. At the team score of 14, Max O’Dowd was dismissed for just 8 runs by spinner Nasum Ahmed. On the very next ball, Teja Nidamanuru also became Nasum’s victim.
Another opener, Vikramjit Singh, tried to settle but was removed by Taskin Ahmed after scoring 24 runs. Netherlands captain Scott Edwards was then dismissed by Mustafizur Rahman, leaving the visitors at 55/4.

From there, wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Only Ayaan Dutt offered some resistance with a late 30-run knock, helping the team cross the 100-run mark. The Netherlands were eventually bowled out for 103 with 15 balls still left. Nasum Ahmed was the top wicket-taker with 3 wickets.
Tanzid Tamim Shines in the Chase
In reply, Bangladesh lost their first wicket at 40 runs when Mohammad Naim was dismissed for 23 off 21 balls. After his departure, Tanzid Tamim partnered with captain Liton Das to take the game away from the Dutch.
Tanzid played a fluent innings, completing his half-century and guiding the team to victory without any further trouble. The unbeaten partnership between Tanzid and Liton carried Bangladesh home in style, ensuring a comfortable 9-wicket win.
Final Match Still to Come
With this victory, Bangladesh has already clinched the series 2-0 with one game remaining. The third and final T20 match will be played on September 3, where the Netherlands will look to avoid a clean sweep.
