Bangladesh Sees Record $2.37 Billion Remittance

Bangladesh just broke a new record in remittance! In just 30 days of July, the country received $2.37 billion from its migrant workers. That means an average of $78.9 million per day. On July 30 alone, $92 million was sent. Compared to the same period last year, remittance has surged by 32%. Not only that, in the entire fiscal year 2024–25, Bangladesh received $30.32 billion, the highest remittance in the country’s history.

In a massive boost to the country’s economy, Bangladeshi migrant workers have once again shown their unwavering contribution by sending home a record-breaking $2.37 billion in remittances during just the first 30 days of July. This remarkable figure reflects an average of $78.9 million per day, a number that speaks volumes about their hard work and love for their homeland.

According to Arif Hossain Khan, spokesperson and Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, this July’s remittance inflow stands significantly higher than the same period last year, which saw $1.79 billion. That’s a 32% increase, proving how strong and resilient the flow of money from abroad has become.

Even more striking, on a single day July 30—Bangladesh received $92 million, underscoring how important the final days of the month are for remittance transactions. Adding to the achievement, in the entire 2024–25 fiscal year, Bangladeshi expatriates sent home $30.32 billion, which marks the highest annual remittance in the nation’s history. This historic milestone offers hope for economic stability amid inflation and foreign reserve pressure.
