A rescue team from the Bangladesh Armed Forces is leaving for Myanmar today to provide humanitarian and medical assistance to the people affected by the recent devastating earthquake. This effort is part of the Bangladesh government’s humanitarian aid and regional cooperation.
Official Announcement by ISPR
“Due to the severe damage caused by the earthquake, a special rescue team from the Bangladesh Armed Forces will fly to Myanmar on Sunday with emergency medicines, relief supplies, rescue equipment, and medical support,” a press release from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday.
The recent earthquake in Myanmar is considered one of the worst natural disasters in years. According to international news reports, the death toll has crossed 1,600, and many more people are feared trapped under the rubble. Both local and international rescue workers are working tirelessly to find missing people.

Government buildings, clinics, homes, and schools have all been severely damaged in Myanmar, a poor and war-torn nation. Hospitals across the nation are having difficulty treating the injured. Upon seeing the pressing need for assistance, the government of Bangladesh promptly made the decision to dispatch this rescue team.
International Rescue Efforts
On Saturday, Myanmar’s military rulers allowed hundreds of foreign rescue workers to enter the country, which is expected to strengthen international relief efforts. In this situation, the presence of the Bangladesh Armed Forces team will play an important role in Myanmar’s disaster response.
This humanitarian aid from Bangladesh is not just a sign of responsibility towards a neighboring country but also a great example of regional solidarity and cooperation.
