Tender Process and Selection
Under the project titled “Acquisition of Two Bulk Carrier Ships (55,000–66,000 DWT Each)”, tenders were invited following the one-stage, two-envelope method. Out of the three companies that submitted proposals, two were found technically responsive. Upon evaluation, the Tender Evaluation Committee recommended Hellenic Dry Bulk Ventures LLC as the responsive lowest bidder. The purchase will be executed with Bangladesh Shipping Corporation’s own funds, without external borrowing.
Other Economic Approvals
On the same day, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), also chaired by Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed, approved the completion of remaining packages under the “Bangladesh Regional Inland Water Transport Project-1”, implemented by BIWTA with World Bank financing, through the government’s procurement process.
