This information was given by Shafiqul Alam the press secretary for the chief adviser, at a media briefing. which was held Thursday at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital.

According to Shafiqul Alam the Chief Adviser has already asked the Chinese government to buy jackfruits, guavas, and mangoes from Bangladesh. These three fruit varieties are now highly sought after by the Chinese government. He said that he hoped this would start a new phase in Bangladesh’s exports to China.

Bangladesh would be able to sell jackfruits to China on a massive scale, the press secretary claimed. Furthermore, Bangladeshi mangoes are popular in China, which presents a big market for exports to that nation. According to him, the World Food Programme (WFP) is giving us four million US dollars in technical help in order to comply with the standards that must be met by mango exporters.

Shafiqul Alam expressed his optimism that the Chief Adviser’s trip to China will strengthen the two nations’ business ties.
It is important to note that beginning on March 26, the Chief Adviser will travel to China for four days.
