Walkout During Israeli Speech
At the 4th Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety held on 18 February in Marrakech, Morocco, several countries, including Bangladesh, walks out during the Israeli delegation’s speech.
Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed this in a statement on Friday.
Clarification by Foreign Ministry
The Ministry said some reports are misinterpreting the incident. Bangladesh was indeed among the countries that walked out.
Translation: “Bangladesh’s position on the Palestinian crisis, Israel’s atrocities, and the oppression of Palestinians is well-known. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has urged everyone to refrain from spreading false information about this specific situation.”

Social Media Misrepresentation
Recently, some videos circulated on social media claiming that while many countries walked out, Bangladesh’s diplomats remained seated and supported the Israeli speech. The Foreign Ministry clarified these claims are false.
This step emphasizes Bangladesh’s consistent support for Palestinian rights and its opposition to Israeli actions against Palestinians.
