BCB to Donate Ticket Sales

Bangladesh has already secured the series by winning the first two matches. The third and final T20 match will be held today (Thursday) at 6:00 PM at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka.

Ticket Sales Will Go to Victims and Foundation

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced that all the earnings from ticket sales of this match will be donated to support the victims of the Milestone School plane crash and the Shahid July Memorial Foundation.

In an official press release, the BCB said:

“সংহতি ও স্মরণের অংশ হিসেবে বিসিবি সম্পূর্ণ অর্থ ঢাকার মাইলস্টোন স্কুল অ্যান্ড কলেজে সাম্প্রতিক মর্মান্তিক বিমান দুর্ঘটনায় হতাহতদের এবং জুলাই শহীদ স্মৃতি ফাউন্ডেশনে সহায়তার জন্য দিচ্ছে।”
“As a gesture of solidarity and remembrance, BCB is donating the full ticket revenue to support the victims of the tragic plane crash at Milestone School and to the Shahid July Memorial Foundation.”

BCB President’s Emotional Statement

BCB President Aminul Islam Bulbul expressed his feelings about the tragedy and the importance of standing together in difficult times:

“ক্রিকেট বাংলাদেশে খেলার চেয়েও বেশি কিছু। এটি আমাদের জাতীয় আত্মার একটি অংশ। শোক এবং স্মরণের এই সময়ে আমাদের একসঙ্গে দাঁড়াতে হবে।”
“Cricket is more than just a game in Bangladesh. It is a part of our national spirit. During this time of grief and remembrance, we must stand united.”

Recap of the Milestone Plane Crash

On Monday, 21 July, a military aircraft tragically crashed into a building of Milestone School and College in Dhaka. Right after the crash, the plane and the school building caught fire. Many school-level students were inside the building when the crash occurred.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR):

34 people have died so far in this incident, and many more are hospitalized with injuries.
