Beijing Warns Against Countries Seeking to Please the US At the Expense Of CHINA

Beijing

Strong Message from Beijing

The trade war between China and the United States is becoming more serious. Today (April 21), China gave a strong warning: if any country makes a trade deal with the U.S. that harms China’s interests, China will take strong action against that country.

A Chinese trade ministry spokesperson said,

“China wants fair talks with all countries. But if anyone tries to gain benefits by hurting China, we will take strong and serious steps in return.”

This warning has made the global trade situation even more tense, and many experts think the trade war may get worse.

U.S. Puts Pressure on Other Countries

According to a report by Bloomberg, the Trump administration is putting pressure on many countries. The U.S. is asking them to reduce trade with China if they want special benefits like lower tariffs from the U.S. In some cases, the U.S. is even threatening financial punishment.

China’s foreign ministry responded by saying:

“The U.S. is using the idea of ‘fair trade’ as an excuse to force high tariffs and push unfair trade deals on other countries.”

China added that it is ready to protect its rights and supports global cooperation and fair-trade rules.

U.S. Gives ‘Anti-China’ Trade Offers

Earlier this month, U.S. trade official Jamison Greer said around 50 countries had contacted the U.S. to talk about new tariffs. After that, several countries started one-on-one trade talks with the U.S.

Some examples:

Japan is thinking of buying more soybeans and rice from the U.S.

Indonesia may import more food and products from the U.S., while cutting orders from other countries.

On April 2, Trump announced that the U.S. would stop tariffs for many countries—but not for China. This shows the U.S. still wants to put pressure on China.

China Focuses on Neighbouring Countries

While facing this trade war, China is trying to build stronger ties with its neighbours. President Xi Jinping recently visited three Southeast Asian countries to improve regional relationships.

In an article published in Vietnamese media, Xi said:

“No one wins in a trade war or tariff war.”

He did not mention the U.S. directly, but the message was clear.

Conclusion: Global Trade Faces Big Challenges

The growing tension between China and the U.S. is creating big risks for global trade. The U.S. is using tariffs as a tool to pressure other countries. In return, China is warning it will respond strongly if harmed.

Experts believe if this continues, it could hurt the global economy—especially for developing countries.
