“Blaming BNP for the Businessman’s Murder is Dirty Politics”

Blaming BNP

BNP Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed has spoken out against attempts to blame the BNP for the recent murder of a young businessman named Sohag, which occurred in front of Mitford Hospital in Old Dhaka.

He said the party has already taken strong disciplinary action by expelling the accused members from Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal, and Chhatra Dal.

“ব্যবসায়ী হত্যার পরও বিএনপির ওপর দায় চাপানো নোংরা ও অপরাজনীতি”

“Even after taking action, blaming BNP is dirty and unethical politics.”

Speaking to the media on Friday night (July 11), Salahuddin called on the government to take legal steps against those involved in the killing.

BNP’s Zero Tolerance Policy

Salahuddin made it clear that BNP does not support any criminal activity by its members.

“বিএনপি ও এর অঙ্গ-সংগঠন কোনো অপরাধীকে কখনো প্রশ্রয় দেয় না, কোনো দিন দেবেও না।”

“BNP and its affiliated bodies never support criminals and never will.”

He added that the party has taken action against many leaders and activists in the past, and that same approach has been followed here.

“এই ঘটনাতেও বিএনপির অবস্থান ‘জিরো টলারেন্স’।”

“BNP’s stance in this incident is also one of zero tolerance.”

Disciplinary Action from Jubo Dal and Others

In a separate official statement, Jubo Dal President Abdul Monayem Munna and General Secretary Nurul Islam Nayan confirmed that two of their accused members were permanently expelled from the party.

These include:

  • Razzab Ali Pintu – Former Environment Affairs Secretary, Central Executive Committee

  • Sabah Karim Laki – Joint Convener, Dhaka South Jubo Dal

They were removed along with their primary membership.

“অপকর্মের দায় দল নেবে না, সাংগঠনিক সম্পর্ক রাখাও নিষেধ”

“The party will not take responsibility for their crimes, and no one is allowed to keep contact with them.”

Jubo Dal has directed its members to cut off all ties with the expelled leaders. Similarly, Swechchhasebak Dal has also permanently expelled two leaders related to this case.

Final Message: Take Legal Action Without Delay

All party units have demanded that law enforcement take strict and necessary legal steps against those involved, without showing any leniency.

This incident has once again raised concerns about political involvement in criminal cases, but BNP leaders have insisted on swift justice and internal accountability.
