Senior BNP Leader Confirms the Change
Senior Joint Secretary General of BNP, Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, informed the media on Monday (1 September),
“বিএনপির প্রতিষ্ঠাবার্ষিকীর কর্মসূচিতে কিছু পরিবর্তন এসেছে। বিশেষ করে ঢাকায় আগামীকালের র্যালি বাতিল করে উত্তর ও দক্ষিণ বিএনপি তাদের এলাকায় সব খাল-নর্দমা পরিষ্কার করার উদ্যোগ নেবে।”
Translation: “There have been some changes in BNP’s anniversary program. Specifically, the rally planned in Dhaka for tomorrow has been cancelled, and the North and South BNP units will take the initiative to clean all drains and canals in their areas.”
Focus on Civic Responsibility
This initiative reflects the party’s attempt to combine its anniversary celebrations with civic responsibility, addressing sanitation issues and easing potential traffic disruption for the public. Party leaders emphasized that this step aims to prioritize citizens’ comfort and reduce inconvenience.
