Translation: “BNP is the carrier, bearer, and creator of reform. BNP does not need to be taught reform. BNP gives birth to reform.”

He made these remarks at a memorial event for the ninth death anniversary of former BNP Standing Committee member A. S. M. Hannan Shah on Saturday at the Kapasia Government Pilot High School Ground in Gazipur.

31-Point Plan for Youth and Development

Fakhrul highlighted BNP’s 31-point plan led by Tarique Rahman, saying:

“তারেক রহমান সাহেব তরুণদের জন্য, যুবকদের জন্য, মহিলাদের জন্য ওই ৩১ দফার মধ্যে এমন কতগুলো বিষয় নিয়ে এসেছেন, যা বাংলাদেশের ভাগ্য পরিবর্তন করে দেবে।”
Translation: “Tarique Rahman Sahib has included several measures in the 31-point plan for youth and women, which will change Bangladesh’s destiny.”

He added that the plan also addresses unemployment, with promises of one million jobs and strategies in agriculture, industry, and investment to create opportunities for the next generation.

Election Concerns and Democratic Goals

Fakhrul criticized attempts to disrupt upcoming elections, noting discussions held in London with BNP leaders and advisors. He emphasized that people expect a democratic parliament through fair elections.

“আমাদের একমাত্র লক্ষ্য আমরা গণতন্ত্র ফেরত চাই, আমরা নির্বাচিত পার্লামেন্ট চাই এবং আমরা নিরপেক্ষ নির্বাচনের মধ্য দিয়ে সেটা চাই।”
Translation: “Our only goal is to restore democracy, we want an elected parliament, and we want it through a neutral election.”

Sacrifices and Persecution

He also recalled the struggles and sacrifices of BNP leaders, including six years of imprisonment for Begum Khaleda Zia, 18 years in exile for Tarique Rahman, false cases against 6 million party members, nearly 20,000 deaths, and 1,700 enforced disappearances including MP Ilias Ali.

Fakhrul urged the interim government to ensure complete neutrality, warning that people do not want biased advisors or any partisan actions during the electoral process.
