BNP leader Sorfuddin Santu has openly admitted that small-scale extortion has been happening over the past year, and he allowed it.
“ফেসবুক, হোয়াটসঅ্যাপ, ইনস্টাগ্রাম—আজই শিখে ফেলুন ৫০ টাকায় ৫০ হাজার মানুষের কাছে পৌঁছে যাওয়ার গোপন কৌশল!”
He said,
“গত ১ বছর ছোট-খাট চাঁন্দাবাজি যা হইছে তা আমি হইতে দিছি! কেন হইতে দিছি? কারণ গত ১৭ বছর আমার নেতা কর্মীরা কিছু খায় নাই!!”
Translation: For the past year, I allowed some small-scale extortion! Why did I allow it? Because my party members have not earned anything for the last 17 years!
