In a significant legal move, Tanvir Siraj, President of the Basan Thana BNP, has filed a defamation case against Sarjis Alam, the chief organizer of the NCP’s northern region. The lawsuit was submitted on Tuesday (August 12, 2025) at the Gazipur Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court. Allegations: False Propaganda Linking BNP to Journalist Tuhin’s Murder
Tanvir Siraj accused Sarjis Alam of spreading baseless rumors on Facebook that linked BNP to the brutal killing of journalist Tuhin. Siraj stated,
Translation: “Journalist Tuhin was brutally killed for filming a criminal gang. But Sarjis Alam, the chief organizer of the NCP northern region, unknowingly spread false propaganda on Facebook linking BNP to this incident, damaging the party’s reputation.”
