A student of BRAC University was found dead at a rented house in Merul Badda, Dhaka. Police recovered the body of Asaduzzaman Durbo, a 25-year-old student from the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department of BRAC University.
Taken to Hospital, Declared Dead
The incident happened late at night on Monday, 30 June. Around 11:45 PM, Durbo was found unconscious and taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). Doctors there examined him and declared him dead.
Discovered Hanging from Ceiling Fan
Sub-Inspector (SI) Rashed Mia of Badda Police Station said they went to the house after receiving the report. Inside one of the rooms, they found Durbo hanging from a ceiling fan with a towel. When taken to the hospital, doctors confirmed that he had already died before reaching.
His body has been sent to the Dhaka Medical morgue for post-mortem examination.

He Lived with Another Person
According to the police, Durbo lived in the house with another person. The other resident stayed in the drawing room while Durbo had his own room. When the person woke up, he found Durbo hanging and informed the police.
Family and Background
Durbo was originally from Kazi Bari Mosque Lane No. 1 in the Kaunia area of Barisal. In Dhaka, he was living as a tenant at house no. L-32/4/1, owned by Shamsuzzaman Dudumiya in Merul Badda. His father, Shamsuzzaman Babu, is an engineer, and his mother works as a schoolteacher.
Reason Still Unknown
The reason behind Durbo’s death is still unclear. Police have started an investigation to find out why he took such a step.
