Adviser on Shipping and Labor Brigadier General (Retd.) M. Sakhawat Hossain said that Chief of Army Staff General Waqar-uz-Zaman gave a speech that was understandable. He said this in reference to the speech given by the army chief warning everyone about the danger to the independence and sovereignty of the country and nation.
He said this in response to a question at a press conference at the Secretariat on Thursday (February 27). This press conference was organized at the industrial park of the secretariat of Beximco Limited. Sakhawat Hossain said, The army chief is a very high-level person for me. He commands an army. He didn’t say anything without understanding. You know the rest is interpretation. Calling the army chief a ‘straightforward man,’ he said, as far as I know him, he is a very straightforward man, a very, very straightforward man. People who say what they say. So I have a lot of respect for him. I cannot explain what he said or did not say; he can give it.
In the speech, Chief of the Army Chief Advisor to the Interim Government. Speaking on the name of Muhammad Yunus, when Sakhawat Hossain drew attention to this, he said, You will ask him (Army Chief) about this. Earlier yesterday, in a special ceremony organized to commemorate the martyrs of the 2009 Pilkhana massacre at the capital’s Rawa Club, Bangladesh Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman warned, If mud-throwing, fighting, and quarreling among themselves, the independence and sovereignty of the country and nation will be endangered. At this time, he urged everyone to work to stay together.
