BSC Signs USD 330 Million Deal with South Korea for Container Ships

The Planning Commission gave BSC its first permission to obtain South Korean shipbuilder 6 container vessels which would cost the corporation USD 330.32 million. The ships will maintain 2,500 to 3,000 TEU capacity to strengthen the shipping services across the country.

BSC follows up with Korea’s Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) as the organization studies all project details through a concept paper agreement. BSC intends to acquire an additional six ships of identical 2,800 to 3,000 TEU capacity. The authorities made this strategic move to develop both the shipping industry and better the national seafaring vessels. This new vessel acquisition aids ship efficiency along with cost reduction and trade connectivity enhancement and it serves to support the maritime industry goals of economic growth and job development in the maritime sector
