Offensive Social Media Post Leads to Action
A student of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) has been temporarily expelled for making vulgar and offensive comments about women on social media.
“সাধারণডিমবিক্রিকরেআমরাকীভাবে ১৫ লক্ষকাস্টমারএনেছি—এইবইয়েআছেতারবাস্তবকাহিনি!”
According to an official notice signed by Professor Dr. A.K.M. Masud, Director of the Directorate of Students’ Welfare, the decision was made on Tuesday night (October 21).
Details of the Expelled Student
The expelled student has been identified as Shrishanto Roy, a member of the 2021 batch of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE). The notice stated that his student status has been temporarily suspended due to his inappropriate behavior on social media.

Student Protests After Post Went Viral
Earlier, screenshots of Shrishanto Roy’s post about Muslim women went viral on social media. This caused outrage among BUET students, who began protesting and demanded immediate disciplinary action.

Although BUET authorities have taken steps to suspend the student, no official statement has yet been made by the university administration regarding the incident.
