A teenage boy named Nizon Amin Khan, who was detained as a suspect from Dhanmondi 32 and later released upon signing a bond by his mother, has made a strong remark claiming that the historically burnt house will one day be recognized as a sacred pilgrimage site in Bangladesh.

A video featuring Nizon went viral on social media on Friday (14 November), where he expressed his thoughts and expectations about the place.Nizon said,

আমাকে মুচলেকা দিতে হয়েছে। বলা হয়েছে, আমাকে যদি আবার ধানমন্ডিতে দেখে, তাহলে আমাকে আবার গ্রেপ্তার করা হবে।

Translation: “I had to sign a bond. They told me that if I go to Dhanmondi again and they find me there, I will be arrested once more.”

He further expressed his feelings and hope, saying,

ইনশাআল্লাহ, আমি আবারও ধানমণ্ডিতে যাব এবং এই ঐতিহাসিক পোড়া বাড়িই একদিন বাংলার এক তীর্থস্থান হিসেবে পরিচিত হবে, এটাই আমার আশা।

Translation: “InshaAllah, I will go to Dhanmondi again, and I believe that this burnt historic house will eventually be known as a pilgrimage site for Bangladesh.”

“নিজের ব্যবসার জন্য এখন নিজের ওয়েবসাইট — মাত্র কয়েক মিনিটে Storola দিয়ে!”

Earlier on Thursday at around 10:15 AM, police detained Nizon Amin Khan from the Dhanmondi 32 area. After being detained, he was taken away in a police van. According to police information, the boy is 14 years old and originally from Bhaluka, Mymensingh.

Witnesses at the location said he was wearing a suit with pants, coat, and tie, and carrying a bag. Inside the bag, he had reportedly collected bricks from the residence associated with Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
