Chief Adviser Encourages Youth to Embrace “Three-Zero” Lifestyle for a Better Future

Muhammad Yunus the chief adviser has urged youth to become “Three-Zero Persons” in order to prevent the earth from being destroyed. He urged youth to embrace entrepreneurship rather than traditional jobs.

Cheif Adviser Yunus emphasized the necessity of a new society founded on three core principles- zero carbon emissions, zero waste and zero wealth concentration while speaking at the BIMSTEC Young Gen Forum on the fringes of the BIMSTEC Summit.

Yunus warned that the world is on a path of self-destruction by sticking with antiquated economic structures that encourage carbon emissions, waste production, and wealth concentration. He said that “If we want to provide service, we must transition to a new civilization of three zeros.”

The 2006 Nobel Peace Laureate emphasized that equitable economic distribution is necessary for real sustainability. He also exhorted youth to pursue business, stating that people are created to create and invent, not to serve others. 

Yunus promoted the creation of Three-Zero Clubs, which are groups of five people who make a commitment to leading waste-free, socially conscious, and carbon-neutral lives. He emphasized that grassroots efforts are where change begins, and he encouraged young people to start changing their neighborhoods. “The world cannot be changed overnight. “Start in your village if you want to change,” Yunus advised and motivating the following generation to take steps.
