Chief Adviser to Meet 20 Political Leaders in Two Sessions Today

There are two scheduled meetings on Sunday night.

Today, Sunday, May 25, 2025, 20 political leaders will meet with the current government’s Chief Adviser, Professor Muhammad Yunus. These meetings will be held in two sessions, one at 5:00 PM and the other at 6:00 PM, at his official residence, Jamuna.

This information was officially shared by the Press Wing of the Chief Adviser.

First Session at 5:00 PM – 10 Political Leaders to Attend

The first round of meetings will include leaders from various political parties and movements. The following leaders are expected to meet with the Chief Adviser:

  • Colonel (Retd.) Oli Ahmed – President of Liberal Democratic Party (LDP)
  • Mahmudur Rahman Manna – President of Nagorik Oikya
  • Saiful Haque – Secretary of Revolutionary Workers Party
  • Zonayed Saki – Chief Coordinator of Gonosonghoti Andolon
  • Hasnat Kaiyum – Chief Coordinator of Rashtra Sanskar Andolon
  • Mujibur Rahman Manju – Secretary General and President of Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party)
  • Mujahidul Islam Selim – Former President of Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB)
  • Khalequzzaman Bhuiyan – Advisor to the Central Committee of the Socialist Party of Bangladesh (BASAD)
  • Tipu Biswas – Coordinator of Jatiya Gonofront
  • Shahid Uddin Mahmud Swapan – General Secretary of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD)

Second Session at 6:00 PM – 10 More Leaders to Join

In the second meeting, the Chief Adviser will sit with leaders from Islamic parties and other organizations. The leaders expected in this session include:

  • Maulana Sajidur Rahman – Secretary General of Hefazat-e-Islam
  • Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim – Amir of Islami Andolon Bangladesh
  • Maulana Mamunul Haque – Amir of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish
  • Ahmed Abdul Kader – Secretary General of Khelafat Majlish
  • Maulana Azizul Haque Islamabadi – Joint Secretary General of Hefazat-e-Islam
  • Maulana Manzurul Islam Afendi – Secretary General of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Bangladesh
  • Nurul Haque Nur – President of Gono Adhikar Parishad
  • Maulana Musa Bin Izhar – Secretary General of Bangladesh Nezame Islam Party’s National Executive Council
  • Mufti Sakhawat Hossain Raji – Secretary General of Islami Oikya Jote
Political Interest Growing Amid Resignation Rumours

The Chief Adviser’s Press Wing has also said that they contacted several political parties to collect the full names and positions of their leaders who will be attending the meetings.

Recently, there have been rumours that Professor Muhammad Yunus is considering resigning from his post due to dissatisfaction and frustration with the current situation. These reports started spreading on Thursday night, causing major concern in political circles.

As a result, several political parties have shown interest in meeting him for discussion.

Earlier Meetings Already Held

Just yesterday, Saturday, meetings were held between the Chief Adviser and leaders from BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, and National Citizen Party (NCP). Today’s meetings are part of this ongoing series of discussions with political parties.
