China Pledges Major Humanitarian Support

China has announced USD 100 million (around Tk 1,200 crore) in Humanitarian Aid for Gaza to help Palestine overcome the severe crisis in Gaza and to support future reconstruction.

The announcement was made on Thursday (4 December) in Beijing during a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron.

Meeting Held Before the Announcement

Before the press briefing, Chinese President Xi Jinping and President Macron attended the 7th official meeting of the Franco-Chinese Business Council in Beijing.

Xi Jinping Describes Gaza Situation as Extremely Critical

During the press conference, Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed deep concern about the current situation in Gaza.

He added that the financial support aims to help reduce the humanitarian crisis and assist in the rebuilding process. Said,

“Beijing will provide this money to overcome the humanitarian disaster and support future reconstruction efforts.”
