Good news for bKash customers that digital loan limit increased to Tk 50,000bKash, one of the leading companies in the mobile financial services (MFS) sector in Bangladesh, and The City Bank, a leading private sector bank, have jointly introduced a major change in the digital nano loan service. From now on, bKash customers can take a maximum unsecured loan of up to 50,000 taka, which was previously 30,000 taka.
This information was given in a press release on Wednesday (June 14). The release said,
“এখন থেকে ঋণ নেওয়ার যোগ্য বিকাশ গ্রাহকেরা যেকোনো সময়, যেকোনো প্রয়োজনে বিকাশ অ্যাপ থেকে জামানত ছাড়া ৫০ হাজার টাকা পর্যন্ত ঋণ নিতে পারবেন। তবে কে কত ঋণ পাবেন, সেটি নির্ভর করবে ব্যবহারকারীর লেনদেন ও ঋণমানের অতীত রেকর্ডের ভিত্তিতে।”
Translation: “From now, eligible bKash customers can borrow up to Tk 50,000 from the bKash app without collateral at any time, for any need. However, the amount of loan that will be received will depend on the user’s past transaction and credit record.”
Customer benefits and qualifications
bKash say,
” এত দিন ডিজিটাল ন্যানো ঋণের সর্বোচ্চ সীমা ছিল ৩০ হাজার টাকা। তবে গ্রাহকের চাহিদা, আস্থা ও দ্রুত ঋণ পাওয়ার সুবিধাকে মাথায় রেখে বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের নির্দেশনা অনুসারে এই ঋণসীমা ৫০ হাজার টাকা পর্যন্ত উন্নীত করা হয়েছে।”
Translation: “Until now, the maximum limit for digital nano loans was Tk 30,000. However, keeping in mind the customer’s needs, trust, and the convenience of getting a quick loan, this loan limit has been increased to Tk 50,000 as per the instructions of Bangladesh Bank.”
By tapping the ‘Loan’ icon on the bKash app, you can take a digital loan from 500 to a maximum of 50,000 taka in just a few clicks. This loan is completely collateral-free and paper-free and will be available based on automatic verification. The loan amount will be determined according to the customer’s bKash transaction history and City Bank’s credit risk management policy.
Customers who have not yet come under the scope of digital loan services can gradually achieve this qualification by regularly using various services including bKash Add Money, Savings, Payments.

Loan Repayment Method and Flexibility
The loan is to be repaid in monthly instalments, which will be automatically deducted from the customer’s bKash account on the due date. If the customer wishes, he can repay the loan partially or completely before the end of the term. No additional charges will be levied for prepayment and interest will be charged only for the period used.
In 2021, the service has so far attracted over 1 million customers, with a total loan amount of over Tk 2,800 crore. bKash claims that this incredible response and customer trust has established the digital lending service as a successful example in the country’s fintech sector.
