At around 3 a.m. on Wednesday, an arson and Molotov cocktail explosion occurred at the gate of Umma Uswatun Rafiya’s residence in the Dholadia area of Ward-1, Mymensingh City Corporation. Her family stated that those present in the house quickly extinguished the fire, preventing any casualties.
Rafiya’s brother, Khandakar Zulkarnaine Rad, filed a case at Kotwali Model Police Station. Police later inspected the site.

Zulkarnaine mentioned that due to their quick response, a major incident was avoided, although the family remains in shock. At the time, 4-5 people were inside the house.
Kotwali Police Station OC Shibirul Islam confirmed that a case has been registered under the Explosives Act against unidentified individuals.
Quick action by the family prevented casualties, but the incident underscores the need for heightened vigilance and prompt investigation by authorities to ensure the safety of individuals and prevent future attacks.
