A tragic incident took place in Khulna’s Boyra area where a 19-year-old college student named Tisa was found hanging inside her rented mess room. Police recovered a note from the scene where she asked forgiveness from her parents. She was alone in the room at the time of the incident as her roommates had gone to visit their homes. Police later recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem.
Student’s Body Found Hanging in Khulna
Police recovered the hanging body of Tisa (19), a student of Government Boyra Mohila College, from a rented mess in Boyra, Khulna. The incident happened late Tuesday night around 12:30 am in a five-story building of the area at Khulna Hostel.
Identity of the Victim
Tisa was the daughter of Abdur Rauf Mollah, a resident of Abhoynagar upazila under Jashore district. She was studying at Government Boyra Mohila College as a higher secondary level student.
A Note Found at the Scene
At the scene, police found a handwritten note where Tisa expressed her last wish. The note said:
“আম্মু-আব্বু আমারে মাফ করে দিও।”
Translation: “Mother and Father, please forgive me.”

Living in a Mess with Other Students
According to police, Tisa lived in a rented flat on the opposite side of Boyra College along with three other female students at Khulna Hostel. Two days before the incident, she visited her home but later returned to the mess. On the night of the incident, her two roommates went to their homes, leaving Tisa alone. Taking that chance, she reportedly hanged herself with a scarf from the ceiling fan hook.
How the Incident Was Discovered
The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sonadanga Model Police Station, Shafiqul Islam, confirmed the matter. He explained that the security guards of the building first suspected something unusual and informed the house owner. The owner then called Tisa’s father.
Her parents rushed from Abhoynagar to Khulna at night. Upon arrival, they found Tisa’s room locked from inside. The police were then informed. Later, police broke the door and recovered the hanging body of the young student.
Police Action and Investigation
Police prepared an inquest report at the spot and sent Tisa’s body to Khulna Medical College Hospital for autopsy. According to the authorities, an unnatural death case (opomrittu case) will be filed regarding the incident.
