RAB has arrested 5 accused named Ezahar in the case of murder of college student Nirab Hossain Rabbi (19) due to a dispute over having a picnic in Daulatpur Upazila of Kushtia. They were arrested from Shahabagh in the capital on Tuesday at 5:30 pm.
This information was given to the journalists in a press release signed by RAB-12 Kushtia Camp Commander Squadron Leader Ilyas Khan on Wednesday at half past noon.
The arrested are Swayeb Biswas and Mahi Biswas, sons of Mizanur Rahman of Sonaikundi village of Daulatpur upazila, Midul Mondal, son of Mukul Mondal, Hriday Mondal, son of Kamal Mondal and Tanha Mondal, son of Shimul Mondal.
RAB-12 Kushtia Camp Commander Squadron Leader Ilyas Khan said that on August 30, a college student Rabbi died due to a dispute over a picnic in Sonaikundi village of Daulatpur police station in Kushtia. The deceased rabbi is the son of Moslem Ali of Sonaikundi village. He was an eleventh class student of the local Nuruzzaman Biswas Degree College.
The uncle of the slain rabbi filed a murder case at Daulatpur police station as the plaintiff. RAB members started intelligence surveillance after the filing of the case. Later, on the basis of secret information, 5 accused were arrested from Shahbagh in the capital. Later the arrested accused were handed over to Daulatpur police station. When the police handed over the accused to the court, the court rejected their bail application and ordered them to be sent to jail.
