A tragic accident occurred near Mohakhali Flyover in Dhaka when a speeding private car crashed into a road divider and caught fire. Two people inside the car died, and one person was injured. The victims’ identities are still unknown, and authorities are investigating the incident using CCTV footage.
Accident Details and Location
On the night of August 8, 2025, around 2:20 AM, a speeding private car crashed forcefully into a road divider near the Mohakhali Flyover in Dhaka city. Immediately after the collision, the car caught fire. This tragic incident resulted in the death of two people inside the vehicle.
Rescue and Hospitalization
Local people quickly rescued three occupants from the burning car. Two of them were taken to Kurmitola General Hospital, and one was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). Unfortunately, two victims died—one at Kurmitola Hospital and another at DMCH. The injured person’s current condition and hospital location remain unknown.

Victims’ Information and Investigation
According to Sub-Inspector Md. Siddiq Hossain of Banani Police Station, the deceased are approximately between 45 and 50 years old. The bodies of the deceased have been transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
SI Siddiq Hossain said,
“মহাখালী ফ্লাইওভারে ওঠার আগে সড়ক বিভাজকে সজোরে ধাক্কা লাগার পরেই আগুন ধরে যায় প্রাইভেটকারটিতে।”
“Just before entering Mohakhali Flyover, the private car hit the road divider hard and then caught fire.”
Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost inspector Md. Faruk confirmed,
“নিহত দুজনের মরদেহ ঢামেক হাসপাতাল মর্গে রাখা আছে। তাদের ময়নাতদন্ত সম্পন্ন হবে।”
“The bodies of the two deceased are kept at the DMCH morgue, and their autopsies will be conducted.”
Ongoing Investigation
Police are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby cameras to identify the victims and understand the full circumstances of the accident. The injured person’s status is still unclear.
