Miscreants shot Sharif Osman Hadi, a candidate for the 13th National Parliament election in Bijoynagar in the capital, during the election campaign. The incident took place after Friday prayers on Friday (December 12), causing panic in the area.
Immediate rescue and treatment
Sharif Osman Hadi, who was shot, was quickly rescued and taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Israfil Faraizi, one of the organizers of July Unity, confirmed the matter and said that the injured Hadi was brought to the hospital on an emergency basis.

Political condemnation and concern
Israfil Faraizi, one of the organizers of July Unity, said,
গুলিবিদ্ধ অবস্থায় ওসমান হাদিকে ঢাকা মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালের জরুরি বিভাগে আনা হয়।
Translation: Osman Hadi was brought to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital with gunshot wounds.
Meanwhile, National Citizens Party (NCP) Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari strongly condemned the incident. He said,
‘হাদির মতো আমাদের জীবনেরও শঙ্কা রয়েছে, আমাদেরকেও মেরে ফেলা হতে পারে, তবে আমরা জীবন দিয়ে লড়াই করে যেতে চাই।’
Translation: “Like Hadi, we are also in fear for our lives, we may be killed, but we want to fight with our lives.”
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Motijheel Division of DMP Mohammad Harun Or Rashid told the media,
‘আমরা শুনেছি বিজয়নগর এলাকায় তিনি গুলিবিদ্ধ হয়েছেন। তবে বিষয়টি আমরা নিশ্চিত নই, আমাদের টিম পাঠিয়েছি। টিম আমাদের কনফার্ম করলে এ বিষয়ে বিস্তারিত বলতে পারব।’
Translation: “We heard that he was shot in Bijaynagar area. However, we are not sure about this, we have sent our team. We will be able to tell you more about this if the team confirms it to us.”
