The Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit has recovered the motorcycle, helmet, and fake number plate used in the attack on Osman Hadi, the spokesperson of Inquilab Mancha.
Deputy Police Commissioner Muhammad Talebur Rahman of the DMP Media and Public Relations Department confirmed the recovery on Wednesday, December 17.
According to him, the items were found abandoned on Sunday, December 14, at 8:45 AM in the Bonlata residential area of West Agargaon under Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station in Dhaka. CCTV footage analysis after the attack revealed that the motorcycle’s number plate had been changed.
Based on confidential information, the CTTC team recovered the motorcycle and helmet from the ground floor parking of a house in the Bonlata residential area. The fake number plate was later found abandoned inside a manhole.

Further investigation revealed that the motorcycle had passed through multiple owners before being used in the attack. Its first registered owner was Abdur Rahman, followed by Shahidul, Rasel, Marketplace, Obaidul Islam, Anarul, and again Obaidul, finally reaching a person named Shuvo.
For the attack, the motorcycle was purchased under the name of Mainuddin using the national ID of Mohammed Kabir, an associate of the prime suspect Faisal.
The recovered motorcycle, helmet, and fake number plate have been handed over to the Detective Branch for further investigation.
