Times of Israel reported on a mass demonstration in Dhaka, Bangladesh, where up to 100,000 people marched in opposition to Israel’s latest military operations in Gaza. The demonstration, held in Suhrawardy Park opposite Dhaka University, saw people holding Palestinian flags and chanting slogans like “Free, Free Palestine.”
Protesters focused their anger on leaders of the developed world purportedly supporting Israel, according to the Times of Israel. Signs and effigies of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former US President Donald Trump, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi were vandalized and pelted. Coffins were paraded through the crowds symbolizing Gaza casualties.

Backed by former PM Khaleda Zia’s Bangladesh Nationalist Party and Islamist parties, the rally illustrated Bangladesh’s strong pro-Palestinian stance. An Islamic country that has no diplomatic relations with Israel, it has long remained a staunch advocate of a Palestinian state.

There have also been heightened clashes between Palestinian factions and Israeli military units in Ramallah and Hebron following a series of overnight incursions.
