Dhaka University’s academic website (www.ssl.du.ac.bd) was hacked late Thursday night (November 28). The hackers left a message urging students to intensify protests against ISKCON, accusing the organization of being influenced by foreign intelligence agencies. Visitors to the site found a message reading, “Hacked by System AdminBD. We are Muslim BlackHats and Spy Agents.” The hackers assured that no files were damaged and stated the hack was solely to deliver their message. The message also urged Dhaka University students to unite and protest alleged attacks on individuals, while calling on the university administration and Professor Asif Nazrul to take a firm stance against ISKCON and Prothom Alo. Attempts to contact the university’s ICT cell for comments were unsuccessful. The incident highlights concerns about the security of the university’s online systems.
