There will be no lapse in security in the capital during the Eid holidays, said Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury. He stated, “I am 100 percent confident about Dhaka’s security. We have taken the highest level of preparation centering Eid.”

He made these remarks while speaking to reporters on Friday (June 6) after inspecting the security arrangements at the National Eidgah grounds. The Home Affairs Adviser mentioned that 500 patrol teams will be deployed on Eid.

He said, “On the day of Eid-ul-Azha, 500 patrol teams will operate across the capital  from alleys to important points. To ensure security, members of the police, RAB, and other law enforcement agencies have not taken leave during Eid. They are on duty across the country.”

Regarding preparations for Eid prayers, he said, “Just like every year, Eid prayers will be held in a disciplined manner this year too, Insha’Allah. Those who will be praying at the National Eidgah won’t need to bring their own prayer mats. We have arranged everything. We only pray to Allah that it doesn’t rain. If it does, then the main Eid congregation will be held at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.”
