Abrar Faiyaj, younger brother of BUET student Abrar Fahad who was killed allegedly by the banned student organization Chhatra League, expressed his frustration over the incomplete demolition of Dhanmondi 32.
In a Facebook post on Monday (17 November), he wrote:
Translation: “Seeing Dhanmondi 32 being demolished last time, I wasn’t fully satisfied. Only about 15% was demolished. The damaged parts could have been fixed easily.”
Full Demolition Needed to Stop Mischief
Abrar Faiyaj warned that until the building is completely levelled, anti-government forces would continue to cause problems:
Translation: “Until Dhanmondi 32 is completely leveled to the ground, a few anti-Awami League ghosts will keep going there every couple of days to create trouble. It would be good if it can be flattened this time, otherwise as long as the Indian proxy forces stand in Bangladesh, problems will continue.”

Suggestion to Build a University Hall
Abrar Faiyaj suggested a permanent solution to prevent further misuse of the site:
Translation: “The best solution would be to build a university or college hall there; then the game will be completely over.”
Context of the Statement
The comments come amid heightened political tensions in Bangladesh. The International Crimes Tribunal-1, led by Justice Md. Golam Mortuja Majumder, is set to deliver a verdict in the case against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina over alleged crimes during the July 2024 student uprising, which reportedly killed nearly 1,400 people and injured around 25,000.
