Doppl AI App by Google Lets You Try On Clothes with Interesting New Tech

Google is stepping into the world of fashion with the launch of a brand-new experimental app called Doppl, now available on both iOS and Android but only for users in the United States.

With this app, Google introduces a creative twist to the virtual try-on experience by letting users visualize outfits on a digital version of themselves, not just on models. It’s no longer about guessing how a shirt or dress will look on someone who doesn’t resemble your body type.

How Doppl Works?

Doppl is simple to use but packed with powerful AI technology. First, users upload a full-body photo of themselves. Then, they can try on outfits by uploading images or screenshots of clothing whether from a thrift store visit, a friend’s snapshot, or even a saved social media post.

The app takes the image of the outfit and merges it with your photo to create a digital outfit preview. Want to see how the outfit moves in real life? Doppl goes one step further. It generates short AI-powered videos, giving you a dynamic view of yourself wearing the outfit.

Doppl is Now Your Virtual Wardrobe. Doppl isn’t just about one-time try-ons. You can save your favorite looks, revisit previous outfit tests, and even share your digital looks with friends. It’s a personalized fashion journal made interactive.

While Google has experimented with virtual try-on features through its Shopping platform where clothes appeared on diverse models Doppl personalizes the experience like never before. It brings the fitting room to your phone, using your own image as the model.

According to Google, this stand-alone app offers a more immersive and fun way to explore fashion. And let’s not forget this could also be a strategic move by the tech giant to gather valuable insights on user behavior and style preferences, potentially shaping the future of AI-powered shopping.

“We hope Doppl helps you explore your style in new and exciting ways,” Google shared in a recent blog post.

It is part of Google Labs, meaning it’s still in the experimental phase. As such, it’s not perfect. Google openly admits that fit and appearance might not always be accurate, and clothing details can sometimes be off. For now, it supports tops, bottoms, and dresses but no shoes, accessories, or swimwear yet.

There’s no confirmed date for when Doppl will roll out to other regions, including Bangladesh, but its current U.S.-only launch suggests a cautious start.

Doppl represents more than just a fashion app. It’s a glimpse into the future of shopping, where artificial intelligence, personalization, and creativity come together. Whether you’re style-curious or just tired of disappointing online orders, Doppl might be the app that changes how we dress without even opening our closet.
