Famous magazine Time has included Dr. Muhammad Yunus, head advisor of Bangladesh’s interim government and Nobel Peace Prize winner, in its list of ‘The 100 Most Influential People of 2025’.

This list was published on Wednesday, April 16. Dr. Yunus was named in the ‘Leaders’ category. His profile in the magazine was written by Hillary Clinton, former U.S. senator and Secretary of State. She has known Dr. Yunus for many years and praised his work.

“A known face who stepped up for democracy”
Hillary Clinton wrote:

“Last year, after a student-led uprising removed Bangladesh’s authoritarian prime minister, a familiar leader came forward to guide the country back to democracy—Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus.”

She also said:

“Years ago, Yunus started the Grameen Bank in Bangladesh. It gave small loans to poor people, especially women, to help them start businesses, support their families, and live with dignity. About 97% of those helped were women.”

Hillary remembered meeting Yunus for the first time:

“I first met him when he came to Arkansas to help Bill Clinton and me bring a similar microloan program to the U.S. Since then, I have seen his amazing impact in many parts of the world—changing lives, improving communities, and spreading hope.”
