Dr. Shafiqur Rahman to Lead Jamaat Again
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has been re-elected as the Ameer (chief) of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami for the 2026–2028 term.
The announcement came through an official press release issued by the party on Sunday.

Election Process and Announcement
According to the press release, the results were declared by Maulana ATM Masum, the Assistant Secretary General of Jamaat and the party’s Chief Election Commissioner, on Saturday night.
The statement said, “Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s internal election for the Ameer was conducted under the supervision of the Chief Election Commissioner. The result was officially announced on Saturday night.”

Secret Ballot Voting Across the Country
The election was conducted through a secret ballot among Jamaat’s members (Rukon) across the country from 9 to 25 October. After the voting process ended, the responsible teams completed the counting and submitted the final results.
As per the official statement, “Based on the final results, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has been elected as the Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami for the 2026–2028 term with the highest number of votes.”
