Metro Station Closure for Election Days
The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), which manages the metro services, confirmed that
“ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় মেট্রো স্টেশন ৮ ও ৯ সেপ্টেম্বর বন্ধ থাকবে।”
Translation: Dhaka University Metro Station will remain closed on September 8 and 9.
This measure is taken to ensure safety during the DUCSU and hall union elections.

Election Campaign Officially Begins
The official election campaign starts today, Tuesday, although candidates have been promoting themselves since submitting their nomination forms. Authorities issued rules for campaigning to maintain order on campus.
Campaign Rules:

Black-and-white posters, leaflets, or handbills can be printed and distributed during the campaign.

Candidates cannot use anyone else’s photo or symbol except their own black-and-white photo.

Campaigning is only allowed in halls at specific times as instructed.
Restrictions on Posters and Leaflets
Authorities have warned that,
“No posters, leaflets, or handbills are allowed on any structures, walls, vehicles, fences, trees, electricity or telephone poles, or any other fixtures within the campus or hall areas.”
Additionally,
“Damaging a rival candidate’s posters, leaflets, or handbills is strictly prohibited.”
These measures aim to maintain discipline on campus and ensure a fair election process for all students while protecting university property and public safety.
