Case Filed by DU Assistant Proctor
Dhaka University’s Assistant Proctor and teacher of the Department of Public Administration, Shehrin Amin Bhuiya Monami, has filed a case against four people, including journalist and activist Muztaba Khondokar, for allegedly posting edited and obscene photos of her on Facebook along with derogatory and indecent remarks.
The case also includes unnamed individuals who are accused of spreading similar posts on social media.

Police Confirm the Incident
The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shahbagh Police Station, Md Khalid Monsur, confirmed the filing of the case to The Daily Campus.
Details of the Accusation
According to the case statement, the first accused, journalist and activist Muztaba Khondokar, allegedly edited and posted Monami’s picture on his Facebook profile with an obscene caption that read:
“ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রফেসর ইনি, পোশাকের স্বাধীনতায় পরেছে বিকিনি।”
Translation: “This is a Dhaka University professor, wearing a bikini in the name of clothing freedom.”
Screenshots and links to the post were submitted as evidence with the complaint.
The second accused, writer and activist Mohiuddin Mohammad, reportedly shared a photo card of Monami on his Facebook profile and called her “a source of sexual fantasy.” He also made vulgar and insulting comments about her in the same post.
The third accused, Nirab Hossain, a student of Dhaka College, allegedly made obscene comments about Monami under a Facebook post by the news portal The Daily Campus.
The fourth accused, Ashfaq Hossain Evan, also allegedly posted edited and obscene photos of DU Teacher Monami on his own Facebook account. Screenshots and Facebook profile links of all the accused have been attached in the case file.
Continuous Harassment by Unknown Users
In addition to the named individuals, Monami said that several unidentified people have been continuously editing her photos and posting them in obscene ways, making offensive and defamatory remarks about her on various Facebook profiles.
She stated that she came across these posts while she was at her office on the Dhaka University campus.

Monami’s Statement
“এভাবে ক্রমাগতভাবে আমার ছবি এডিট করে আশালীনভাবে পোস্ট করা এবং আমাকে নিয়ে কুরুচিপূর্ণ, আশালীন ও মানহানিকর মন্তব্য করার ফলে আমি মানসিকভাবে ভেঙে পড়েছি।”
Translation: “Constantly editing my photos and posting them indecently, along with vulgar and defamatory comments, has left me mentally broken,” said Monami.
DU Teacher Monami added that after discussing the issue with university authorities and her family members, she decided to file the case. She has requested legal action under the Cyber Security Act against those involved.
