The False Report
British pop star Dua Lipa strongly rejected reports claiming she fired her agent for trying to remove a pro-Palestinian band from the Glastonbury Festival.
She called the claim “completely false” and “deliberately provocative,” clarifying that the agent, David Levy, has not worked with her since 2019.
Media Report
The controversy started after Mail Online in the UK published a story claiming that Dua Lipa fired David Levy for attempting to stop the Irish band Kneecap from performing at Glastonbury.
Dua Lipa’s Response
Reacting sharply, Lipa criticized the media for spreading misinformation to create division online.
In an Instagram story, she wrote:
“I do not condone the actions of David Levy or any other music executive. But I also cannot ignore how this has been presented in the media. The report is not only entirely false, but the language used by the Daily Mail is deliberately provocative and a clear attempt to stoke division online.”

She added:
“I believe in Free Palestine. But using a global tragedy to sell newspapers feels extremely upsetting to me.”
WME’s Statement
Dua Lipa’s talent agency WME also denied the report.
They clarified that David Levy only worked with Lipa in the early stages of her career. Since 2019, he had no official role, working only as an advisor until he joined other projects earlier this year.
Since 2022, Lipa’s father Dukagjin Lipa has been managing her career.
The Glastonbury Context
Irish rap group Kneecap, known for supporting Palestine, performed at Glastonbury in June.
One of their members, Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh, is facing terrorism-related charges. Because of this, several music executives, including reportedly David Levy, signed a letter asking organizers to ban Kneecap from the festival.
Despite the controversy, the band performed on stage and raised slogans of “Free Palestine” with the crowd.
Dua Lipa’s Stand on Gaza
Dua Lipa has consistently spoken out against Israeli attacks in Gaza. She has called for a “humanitarian ceasefire” several times.
In May this year, after an Israeli airstrike on a camp for displaced people in Gaza, she wrote:
“Burning children alive can never be justified. The whole world is uniting to stop Israel’s genocide.”
The Humanitarian Crisis
According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, more than 65,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks over the past two years of war.
