Wedding Ceremony Held in Dhaka
SM Farhad, General Secretary (GS) of the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU), and DUCSU Assistant General Secretary (AGS) Mahiuddin Khan got married on Wednesday (24 December).
SM Farhad married Jannatul Ferdous Sanzida, a leader of the Chittagong University Central Students’ Union (CUCSU). Information about Mahiuddin Khan’s bride was not disclosed.
Call for Justice at the Wedding Stage
During the wedding ceremony, both SM Farhad and Mahiuddin Khan publicly demanded justice for the killing of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Mancha.
DUCSU leader AB Zubayer shared several photos on social media showing the two grooms in wedding attire holding placards that read “Justice for Hadi.”

Social Media Message from AB Zubayer
Along with the photos, AB Zubayer wrote:
“বিয়ের অনুষ্ঠানেও সহযোদ্ধাকে না ভোলায় এস এম ফরহাদ ও মহিউদ্দিন খান ভাইকে ধন্যবাদ। আমরা সবাই হাদি হব— যুগে যুগে লড়ে যাব।”
Translation: “Thank you to brothers SM Farhad and Mahiuddin Khan for not forgetting their fellow fighter even at their wedding ceremony. We will all become Hadi—we will continue to fight through generations.”
Earlier Announcement and Wishes
On Tuesday night, DUCSU Executive Member Raihan Uddin announced on Facebook that DUCSU GS SM Farhad and AGS Mahiuddin Khan would get married the next day. He wished them well and prayed for blessings and happiness in their married lives.
Student Leadership Background
Alongside their roles in DUCSU, SM Farhad and Mahiuddin Khan also serve as the President and Secretary respectively of Islami Chhatra Shibir’s Dhaka University unit.
Farhad is a student at the Institute of Social Welfare (2017–18 session), while Mahiuddin is a student of the Department of Public Administration (2018–19 session) at Dhaka University.
