Elon Musk, the world-renowned technology entrepreneur and CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has begun a new chapter in US politics. He has announced the formation of a new political party due to disagreements with former US President Donald Trump. Musk announced his new political platform in a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday (July 5) local time.
‘America Party’: Musk’s Political Intentions
Musk wrote in his post,
নতুন দলের নাম ‘আমেরিকা পার্টি’। জনগণের স্বাধীনতা ফিরিয়ে দেয়ার জন্য দলটি গঠন করা হয়েছে। অপ্রয়োজনীয় খরচ ও দুর্নীতির মাধ্যমে যখন দেশকে দেউলিয়া করা হচ্ছে, তখন আমরা প্রকৃতপক্ষে একদলীয় ব্যবস্থায় বাস করছি, গণতন্ত্রে নয়।
Translation: “The new party is called the America Party. The party was formed to restore the freedom of the people. When the country is being bankrupted through unnecessary spending and corruption, we are actually living in a one-party system, not a democracy.”

However, there is no official information yet on whether the party has been registered with the US Election Commission (FEC). Musk did not provide any details about the party’s leadership or membership.
Elon Musk’s involvement in US politics is not new. He was once an active participant in Trump’s presidential campaign. The close relationship between these two influential figures, discussed in various circles, was at the center of political and business speculation. There were even rumors surrounding Musk’s pro-Trump stance, that he spent billions of dollars to help Trump win the election. After Trump’s victory, he was also given an advisory role as the head of the ‘Efficiency Department’.
The two men recently clashed over Trump’s tax and spending overhaul, known as the “Big Beautiful Bill.” After the bill became law, Musk sharply criticized it in multiple tweets and directly warned lawmakers who supported it.
In response, Donald Trump attacked Musk with harsh criticism. He said,

Translation: ‘Musk’s companies have received the largest subsidies in US history. The US president also commented that if he does not receive these subsidies, he will have to close his business and return to South Africa.’
