The interim government’s chief adviser, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, has encouraged young people to become independent entrepreneurs. He said, “Jobs are like modern slavery, but human beings are meant to be free. Every person has the ability to work with creativity and independence.”
On Saturday morning, Dr. Yunus spoke at a special event at the prestigious Peking University in China. His speech captured the attention of teachers, researchers, and students present at the event. The university awarded him an honorary doctorate degree before to his address. He discussed China’s economic potential, progress, and the future of Bangladesh-China collaboration while accepting the award.

“I want to eradicate poverty as my top priority as the leader of the new Bangladesh,” stated Dr. Yunus. However, there are still many obstacles to get past. To overcome these, all citizens must participate in the development of the country. He also underlined that many young people in Bangladesh are working extremely hard in spite of their little resources. If the right possibilities are provided, the country may progress quickly.

As the leader of the new Bangladesh, my first aim is to eradicate poverty,” Dr. Yunus said. But there are a lot of challenges ahead. To overcome these, all citizens must take part in the growth of the nation. He also mentioned how many young people in Bangladesh are putting in a lot of effort despite having little money. The nation may make rapid growth if they are given the proper opportunities. Additionally, he stated, “A lack of appropriate chances prevents many young people in my nation from utilizing their talents. Despite their efforts to alter their destiny, the current economic structure prevents them from succeeding. This issue is a significant obstacle to the advancement of the country and is not merely a personal one.

Emphasizing the importance of entrepreneurship, he said, “Every citizen has the right to study at a good institution and enter the job market. However, the idea of jobs is misleading. Jobs limit creativity. Instead, we should encourage young people to become entrepreneurs so they can create new opportunities and generate employment.”

“China has demonstrated how a well-organised and properly planned economic system can transform a country into a global economic powerhouse,” he remarked, referring to China’s economic boom. Bangladesh can go a similar course, but we have to adjust our plans to fit our unique circumstances.
Dr. Yunus began his four-day official visit to China on Wednesday. He spoke with Chinese President Xi Jinping during his tour on investment, bilateral ties, and joint climate change initiatives. The future of the Teesta River project was one of the main points of discussion.

Additionally, on Thursday, Dr. Yunus spoke at the Boao Forum for Asia, where he highlighted strategies for poverty eradication, entrepreneurial development, and the importance of social business. His speech was highly praised on the international stage.
Dr. Yunus is expected to return to Bangladesh today, concluding his China visit. His trip is anticipated to strengthen the relationship between Bangladesh and China further.
