The family of Sharif Md. Osman Hadi, the spokesperson of the Inkilab Mancha, has decided to send him abroad for advanced medical treatment following his critical condition after being shot. However, whether he is currently fit for international travel has not yet been approved by the medical board.
Doctors have been discussing transferring him either to Thailand or Singapore, though the final decision on the destination is expected to be made tonight. This was confirmed on Sunday night (14 December) by Dr. Abdul Ahad, a neurosurgeon at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, who is part of Hadi’s treatment team.
Dr. Ahad stated that the family has made the decision to seek advanced care abroad. He added:
আগামীকাল হাদিকে উন্নত চিকিৎসার উদ্দেশ্যে বিদেশে নেওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত হয়েছে। এখন পর্যন্ত দুটি দেশ থাইল্যান্ড ও সিঙ্গাপুর নিয়ে আলোচনা চূড়ান্ত। তবে কোন দেশে নেওয়া হবে, সেটা রাতের মধ্যে সিদ্ধান্ত হবে।

Translation: “Currently, discussions regarding treatment in either Thailand or Singapore are at an almost final stage. The final decision on which country he will be sent to will be made tonight.”
He emphasized that the medical board has not yet given final clearance on whether Hadi is fit to travel in his current condition. Dr. Ahad added
বর্তমান শারীরিক অবস্থায় হাদি বিদেশযাত্রার জন্য উপযুক্ত কি না, সে বিষয়ে মেডিকেল বোর্ড এখনো চূড়ান্ত অনুমোদন দেয়নি। এ অবস্থায় রোগীকে নেওয়া নিরাপদ হবে কি না— সেই বিষয়ে মেডিকেল বোর্ড এখনো ক্লিয়ারেন্স দেয়নি। আশা করছি, আগামীকাল সকালে বোর্ডের চিকিৎসকরা এ বিষয়ে চূড়ান্ত সিদ্ধান্ত জানাবেন।
Translation: “The medical board has not yet given final approval on whether Hadi is fit for travel abroad in his current physical condition. At this stage, it is still unclear whether transporting the patient would be safe. We hope that the board doctors will provide a final decision on this matter tomorrow morning.”
Osman Hadi is currently under treatment at Evercare Hospital’s Critical Care Unit. Doctors have described his condition as extremely critical, requiring continuous intensive monitoring. Once the medical board grants final clearance, arrangements for his transfer abroad will commence.
