A drug addicted son hacked his father Ali Dewan Sardar (75) to death in Raipur, Laxmipur. His son Mamun (35) fled after the incident. The incident took place at around 9:30 pm on Wednesday (June 11) in the Rashid Sardar Bridge area of Ward No. 1 of Uttar Charbangshi Union of the upazila.
Why Mamun(son) kill his father?
According to the Police and locals,Ali Dewan’s younger son Mamun is a drug addict and involved in the drug trade. A few days ago, the police arrested him and sent him to jail in a drug case.He was released on bail before Eid and got involved in the drug trade again.On Wednesday night, there was an argument between father and son over these matters.

Later, when the father, Ali Dewan Sardar, went to the tube well to prepare for Isha prayers, the murderous son stabbed his father with a sharp knife from behind and injuring him.He died on the spot and when local people came forward, the killer’s son Mamun fled.
What was in Autopsy(ময়না তদন্ত)?
At 12:45 am on Thursday (June 12), Dr. Arup Pal, Resident Medical Officer of the District Sadar Hospital, said that the deceased had several deep wounds caused by sharp weapons. The body is at the morgue for autopsy.
Raipur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nizam Uddin Bhuiyan said,
(মামুন মাদক ব্যবসায়ী ও মাদকাসক্ত ছিলেন। তার বাবা এসব কাজে বাঁধা দেয়ায় কথা কাটাকাটির এক পর্যায়ে ধারালো দা দিয়ে কুপিয়ে তাকে হত্যা করে। মরদেহটি উদ্ধার করে জেলা সদর হাসপাতালের মর্গে পাঠানো হয়েছে। তবে দুপুর ১২টা পর্যন্ত থানায় কোনো মামলা দায়ের করা হয়নি। তবে মামলার প্রস্তুতি চলছে। এ ব্যাপারে ঘাতক ছেলেকে গ্রেপ্তারের চেষ্টা করছে পুলিশ।)
Translation: Mamun was a drug dealer and addict. When his father stopped him from doing these things, he hacked him to death with a sharp knife during an argument.
