From the disquiet and strain over recent social media threats of murder and rape directed at female footballers published by Bangladesh Mahila Parishad (BMP).
BMP accentuated the harassment faced by participants of the national women’s football team, which is reported by the statement recovering reports from various news outlets, incorporating players who have twice won the SAFF championship title.
BMP President Fauzia Moslem and General Secretary Maleka Banu, who have signed the statement, women athletes in both domestic and international football, reinforce the significant contribution. It validated their allegiance and achievements in transferring honor to the nation during their performances on the global stage.
BMP said that resembling harassment imperils the playing environment and is unacceptable for both footballers and any citizen, which is defaming the threats in the dynamic terms.
The organization encouraged the Bangladesh Football Federation; they took proximate action to address the problems and assure the safety of all female footballers, involving the 18 participants of the national team. It also called on authorities to generate a certain environment for these athletes, who have worked relentlessly to signify their country with pride.
