The mortal remains of Sharif Osman Hadi, the spokesperson for Inqilab Mancha, arrived in Bangladesh this evening. A flight from Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying his body landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport shortly before 6:00 PM on Friday (December 19).
The spokesperson for the activist platform Inqilab Mancha, Sharif Osman Hadi, has been brought back to the country. After landing at the airport, his remains are being transported to the Dhaka University Central Mosque. From there, the body will be moved to the mortuary of the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases for overnight preservation.
Earlier today, the flight carrying Hadi’s body departed Singapore after 2:00 PM Bangladesh time. Although a funeral prayer was originally scheduled to be held at Singapore’s Angullia Mosque at 10:00 AM this morning, it was ultimately canceled due to security concerns raised by local authorities.
Inqilab Mancha has announced that a formal Janaza will be held tomorrow, Saturday, at Manik Mia Avenue following the Zuhr prayers. While the community prepares to pay their final respects, the family and organizers are still deliberating on the final resting place for the spokesperson.
