Independent Investigation Demanded
Mizanur Rahman emphasized the need for forming an independent and neutral investigation committee to uncover the true cause of the fire. He also called for legal action against the individuals or organizations found responsible.
The association further demanded a comprehensive reassessment of the security and fire control systems within the airport area, ensuring modernization and effective reform to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Losses and Damage Reported
According to the DCAA, all imported goods stored in the warehouse were completely destroyed by the fire. Even some products that appeared unburnt have been rendered unusable due to heat and smoke exposure.
The press release also criticized the Civil Aviation Authority and Fire Service for their delayed response, claiming they failed to take timely and effective measures to contain the blaze.
