A fire broke out at Cox’s Bazar International University at around 8:12 pm on Saturday (October 18). The fire was caused by a short circuit in a computer in the Islamic Studies Department.

University Assistant Registrar Jahangir Selim said that several computers and some books were burnt due to the fire. However, there was no loss of life or serious damage.

Multiple units of the Cox’s Bazar Fire Service and Civil Defense rushed to the spot, and the fire was completely brought under control by 9 pm.
