Argument Over Late Food Delivery Turned Violent
On Thursday evening (August 7, 2025), a terrible incident unfolded in Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha, India. A female nurse named Binodini Rath was stabbed multiple times by a Food Delivery Man after a verbal argument about why the food arrived late.
Binodini, who works at a private hospital in the city, had ordered food online. But the delivery was unusually late. When the delivery agent, identified as Tapan Das alias Mitu, finally arrived with the food, she asked him about the reason for the delay.

Heated Exchange Ended in Brutal Attack
An argument broke out between Binodini and the delivery agent over the delay. According to reports, the conversation quickly turned into a heated quarrel. Suddenly, the delivery agent lost control and attacked her with a sharp weapon he was carrying.
“খাবার আনতে কেন দেরি হলো”— এই প্রশ্নের জবাবে প্রথমে তর্ক, পরে ঘটে ছুরিকাঘাত।
“Why was the food so late?” — this simple question led first to an argument, then to a stabbing.
Woman Seriously Injured in Neck, Head, Hands and Legs
The brutal attack left Binodini with serious injuries on her neck, head, arms, and legs. Nearby people quickly rushed to help and took her to a local hospital for emergency treatment.
Police Arrested the Accused on the Spot
The police were informed immediately and arrived at the scene shortly after the attack. They arrested the delivery boy Tapan Das and recovered the sharp weapon used in the attack. The local police confirmed that a preliminary medical test showed the attacker was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time.
Fear Spreads in the Area
The shocking nature of the incident has caused panic and concern among local residents. People are questioning the safety of trusting strangers during food deliveries.
The police have started further investigation into the matter and assured the public that strict action will be taken against the accused.
