The resignation of eight directors of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the withdrawal of the nomination of the National Sports Council (NSC) have largely confirmed that Faruk Ahmed will not remain as BCB president. He became a director of the Cricket Board as a representative of the National Sports Council and became the board president through that source. But on Thursday night, he was effectively removed from the BCB after the Sports Council rejected his nomination.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Faruk Ahmed said,
“I will not let the injustice that I am a victim of, the forcible removal of my position, go unchallenged. I will fight. I will see it through to the last moment. I have been treated unfairly. I have informed the ICC.”
At 12:45 am on Thursday (May 29), Faruk Ahmed said,
“I have informed the entire matter to ICC President Joy Shah. I have also contacted at least 5-7 directors of the ICC and informed them of the matter.”
He also said,
“I believe and I am sure that ICC will start their action soon. You will see that ICC’s letter will reach BCB in the next 1-2 days.”
Citing the example of Sri Lanka, Faruk Ahmed said,
“A similar incident happened in Sri Lanka two years ago. The Sri Lankan cabinet dissolved the entire board. Then the ICC took immediate action and reinstated the entire board.”

He have hope that ICC will do same and again he become the board president.
On the other hand, BCB directors Mahbub Anam and Iftikhar Rahman Mithu said,
“When the government itself has lost trust in Faruk Ahmed and doesn’t want him anymore, how can we directors stay with him?”
On 28 May, sports Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan Farooq said on Daily Ittefaq that government don’t wait Farooq Ahmed as a BCB president.
Before 11 clock, on Thursday night, the National Sports Council issued a notice; ‘The National Sports Council (NSC) has withdrawn the nomination of Faruk Ahmed as BCB director. That is, the process through which Faruk Ahmed came to BCB and became a director has been cancelled. As a result, Faruk Ahmed initially lost his directorship in BCB. And naturally, with the loss of the directorship, he will no longer be able to hold the position of president.
